LA POSTA VIAGGIA IN TRAM. SETTANT'ANNI DALL'AVVIAMENTO CELERE

In 1954, a special postal service was introduced in Torino: the ‘Avviamento Celere’: on the trams that passed through the Porta Nuova station, a mailbox was placed that was emptied every time it passed, allowing mail to be forwarded quickly. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the introduction of this service, and in collaboration with the Italian Post Office, the Association of Turin and Province Circles, and the Unione Filatelica Subalpina, a historic tram will be placed in Piazza Carlo Emanuele II with a mobile post office inside and the possibility of posting correspondence, as well as a dedicated philatelic cancellation.
