NATURE & SPORT
On the occasion of the Sagra del Pomodoro Costoluto di Cambiano and the Fiera Zootecnica di Riva presso Chieri on Sunday 1 September we propose an itinerary from Cambiano to Riva presso Chieri of about 23 km, partly on dirt roads and dirt tracks, partly on cycle paths and secondary roads. The route is almost entirely flat.
The route from Cambiano (mmeting point at the cimetery parking at 9.45 am) leads into the countryside, past the MunLab (Ecomuseo dell’Argilla) cycling through a rural landscape. The itinerary crosses some typical hamlets characterised by the presence of several Castles (Mosi, Fortemaggiore, Castelguelfo) to reach, at the ancient Mulino della Torre, the little village of Riva presso Chieri. The way back path leads to Chieri, towards the hamlet of Madonna della Scala, from where a section of the Blue Way Piemontese returns to the starting point.
For those who enjoy cycling, there is the possibility of extending the route by adding a stretch of about 18 km, starting from Trofarello station (departure at 8.30 am) and following the BlueWay Piemontese to reach Cambiano.
The route is designed by Pistaaa! La blue Way Piemontese and the track of the route is available at Outdooractive.
Recommended bike: MTB, E-bike and Gravel, excursion to be made with own bike. Don’t forget to wear suitable clothing and footwear and to take a water bottle and a snack with you. The use of helmets and compliance with the Highway Code is recommended.
Visits are free of charge with a booking fee of € 5.00.
Turismo Torino e Provincia is a proud supporter of the Fondazione Piemontese per la Ricerca sul Cancro, to which it donates the entire proceeds of the booking service to support the oncological treatment and research activities of the Istituto di Candiolo - IRCCS.
The tours are organised thanks to the contribution of the Città Metropolitana di Torino and in collaboration with Distretto del Cibo Chierese e Carmagnolese in collaboration with Turismo Torino e Provincia.
