The characteristics of mountain honey are derived from the presence of plant species that are particularly visited by bees, the so-called melliferous plants.
We can mention chestnut honey, recognisable by its dark colour, linden honey and rhododendron honey, typical of honeys produced at high altitudes.
The beehives, located mainly in the hilly and mountainous areas of the valleys, give a very high quality product; the main monofloral varieties in the area are:
multi-floral honeys: alpine flora and honey with a prevalence of chestnut and lime
