A journey through medieval Susa amidst stories of alliances, intrigues and breathtaking scenarios: Susa Svelata - Racconti e Ombre al Chiaro di Luna (Susa Unveiled - Tales and Shadows by Moonlight) returns with a new appointment dedicated to the theme of Marriage and Power, to explore the political and family dynamics that marked 11th century Europe.
The protagonist of the evening will be the figure of Oddone of Savoy, third consort of Countess Adelaide, around whom tales of marital strategies and fragmented powers that insisted on a small but crucial city like Susa are woven. An opportunity to reflect on how family ties were tools for governing and building alliances in a complex and multifaceted Middle Ages.
The evening is divided into two rounds:
- Susa at Sunset (5.30pm-8.00pm): guided tour through the rooms of the Castle and the streets of the city, ending with a panoramic aperitif in the evocative spaces of the Castl
- Susa Svelata (8.00pm-11.20pm): an immersive experience under the stars, with an aperitif at sunset and theatrical performances enlivening the route through alleyways and monuments.
- Thanks to the collaboration with the Diocese of Susa and the FAI-Delegazione Valle di Susa, it will be possible to exceptionally access the San Giusto bell tower, narrated by historian Davide Ligas, and the bell tower of Santa Maria Maggiore, accompanied by FAI volunteers: from their summits, it will be possible to admire a unique view of the city and the surrounding mountains, in a moment that combines history, nature and suggestion.
