Segni of the Albertina. Personal evolutions of a collective vision

From 02/08/2025 to 24/08/2025
Rubiana
Culture & Tradition

There is an ancient, silent gesture that excavates matter to make image. A gesture born of the encounter between thought and surface, between patience and intuition. It is the engraver's gesture. The exhibition offers a glimpse of the engraving tradition that has passed through the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti di Torino over the last century. The exhibition brings together works created using different engraving techniques to narrate the evolution of the graphic language and its expressive vitality.
The protagonists of the exhibition are artists who have intertwined their path with the Albertina Academy, as students or teachers, contributing to consolidating its prestige and transmitting knowledge, styles and experimentation: Francesco Casorati, Mario Calandri, Pino Mantovani, Giacomo Soffiantino, Giorgio Ramella, Donatella Merlo, Francesco Tabusso, Francesco Franco, Franco Fanelli, Ermanno Barovero, Nino Aimone, Paola Pitzianti and many others.

Their engravings reflect the plurality of artistic visions, but also the common thread of a school that has been able to keep alive the dialogue between tradition and innovation. On the occasion of the opening, Casa Tabusso will also be open for a handpan concert by Matteo Boseglio. Followed by an aperitif (booking required by Friday 1).
