IL BASILISCO DELLA VAL SUSA: CACCIA AL TESORO SULLE TRACCE DEL DRAGO

CULTURE & TRADITION
Susa Valley is rich in traditions and legends, some well known, others less so, but just as evocative and capable of leading the curious to discover the valley through them.
The itinerary ‘On the Trails of the Dragon’ was created on the ancient belief of the presence of a Basilisk roaming between Bussoleno, Borgone and San Giorio, which had chosen as its home a suggestive long called ‘Stanza del Basilisco’ where curious rock formations create a sort of closed cave.
On the occasion of the Sagra del Marrone di San Giorio (San Giorio chestnut festival), through a fun treasure hunt, we will discover the legend of the Basilisk and the past and present life of this area. Participants will walk along the Sentiero della Pietra e del Marrone (Stone and Chestnut Path) among the ancient roads of the ‘Pica Pera’ (stonemasons) surrounded by marvellous chestnut groves.
Itinerary suitable for families and children from 6 years of age.
At the end of the activity it is possible to visit the San Giorio Chestnut Festival.
