LUNGO L'ANTICA STRADA REALE PER IL MONCENISIO, ESPLORANDO LA VAL CENISCHIA

On the occasion of the Novalesa Potato and Toma cheese Fair, excursion to discover the Strada Reale (Royal Road) between Novalesa and Ferrera Moncenisio, an ancient route connecting with France that has seen the passage of pilgrims, armies, merchants, travellers, peoples and cultures.
A medium-difficult hike along the mule track that is now a section of the Via Francigena;  starting from the historic centre of Novalesa, you will reach the beautiful village of Ferrera Moncenisio at an altitude of 1460 m. Return along the same route.
At the end of the hike, it is possible to take a guided tour of the historic centre of Novalesa (duration 2 hours).

Meeting point: 9:30 a.m. in Novalesa at the car park just before the junction with the road to the Abbey.

Length: 10 km (total)
The following are indispensable: walking shoes, hiking clothing suitable for the season and altitude, water and sun protection.
