After a long period of closure of the Ivrea Castle, during which major restoration work was carried out by the Municipality of Ivrea-the owner of the property-it is once again possible to discover its vicissitudes and curiosities through a guided tour that allows visitors to explore the large courtyard, some of the cells dating back to the period when the castle was used as a prison, and to climb the patrol walkways, which until now have never been open to the public.
