There are many women composers who have made their mark on the history of music: some are now well known to most, such as Clara Wieck - Schumann’s wife - or Cecile Chaminade, whose fame also reached America. Others, on the other hand, are extraordinary figures, all waiting to be discovered: this is the case of Marie Jaëll, whose fame as a pedagogue overshadows her vast musical production, or Ella von Schultz Adaïewsky, a multifaceted female figure, one of the most interesting of those active since the end of the 19th century. The Salotto della Cicala review is dedicated to the discovery of some of these female composers, offering the opportunity to hear pieces of rare performance that will not fail to delight the tastes of all listeners.
