Programme:
Day 1 Testa of Assietta
Arrival in Usseaux, considered as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. You will be fascinated by the typical stone and wooden houses, the old fountains and wash-houses, the bread oven and the old mill.
Departure for the MTB tour on a unpaved road, larch woods, meadows, alpine pastures and breathtaking views accompany the challenging ride up to Testa dell’Assietta, famous for the victorious battle fought in the surrounding area.
Return and accommodation at the refuge, not before taking a few photos at the Big Bench of Pian dell’Alpe.
Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2 Pragelato-Troncea
Departure by car for Traverses (hamlet of Pragelato) and MTB excursion in Val Troncea accompanied by the lively chatter of the Chisone stream. Larch woods, green meadows and colourful alpine flowers until reaching Alpe del Mey.
Packed lunch and return.
Before returning home, we recommend a visit to one of the local alpine pastures to stock up on ricotta, toma, plaisentif, tomini, butter and cheeses flavoured with serpillo or juniper.
