The event begins at the Circolo del Design with a guided tour of the exhibition “The Engineer and Margherita: The City of the Infinite Theatre”, led by the curators of the Archivi d’Affetto project. Through archive material, photographs, documents and personal accounts, the exhibition recounts Turin’s extraordinary theatre season of the 1990s, beginning with Luca Ronconi’s dual production of Karel Čapek’s *The Makropulos Affair*.
At the end of the tour, the itinerary continues to the Teatro Regio in Turin to explore one of the city’s most important cultural venues. The tour will begin with an introduction to the theatre’s history, from the 18th-century Regio destroyed by fire in 1936 to the modern building designed by Carlo Mollino.
The tour will continue through the foyers, with a closer look at Mollino’s architecture, before moving on to the auditorium and the stage, which we will view from behind a safety cordon.
The tour will then proceed to the theatre’s basement, where we will be able to access areas such as the costume workshop, the director’s room, the ballroom and the Piccolo Regio.
