Turismo Torino e Provincia Convention Bureau and the University of Torino have signed an agreement that promotes and enhances the city's congress sector in order to attract national and international conferences and congresses to the city. A direct link with the University and its professors to become more involved in activities promoting the destination as an ideal venue for hosting prestigious scientific events.
The Convention Bureau is committed to offering its professionalism and consultancy free of charge with concrete and targeted tools for the development of bids for the acquisition of national and international congresses and conventions. In addition, the CB makes available the Congress Operators Registry, which includes locations and private companies operating in the congress sector in Torino, so that professors can rely on these service companies to organise the event. The University will promote the services and opportunities provided by the agreement, encouraging lecturers to promote Torino as an event venue. Specific communication and promotion initiatives will then be planned.
The Convention Bureau also participates in the Italian Knowledge Leaders project, promoted by the Convention Bureau Italia and ENIT, with the aim of giving the right recognition to Italy's 'intellectual capital' - university professors, researchers, doctors, who hold strategic positions within international associations - by involving them in activities to promote Italy as a 'knowledge destination' and, consequently, its cities as ideal venues for hosting international congresses.
