Together for the development of the conference sector

1 April 2026

Collaboration between institutions, the academic world and private operators in the conference sector is a strategic driver for the city’s growth and international standing. In this context, the renewal of the agreement between the University of Torino and Turismo Torino e Provincia Convention Bureau represented not only a formal step, but above all an opportunity for dialogue and a shared vision.

On 9 February, in the evocative setting of the historic Aula Magna of the Rectorate, a meeting was held dedicated to the role of the conference and convention sector as a tool for the dissemination of knowledge, scientific dialogue and the economic and cultural development of the region, attended by Cristina Prandi, Rector of the University of Torino, institutions, stakeholders and local operators.

The evening’s guest was Convention Bureau Italia, promoter of the Italian Knowledge Leaders project, which engages and supports the Italian academic community in its pursuit of innovation, professionalism and culture, with the aim of attracting an increasing number of international scientific congresses to our country.

As a example of this initiative, Beatrice Demarchi, Professor in the Department of Life Sciences and Systems Biology, awarded in Rome at Campidoglio as an Italian Knowledge Leader in 2025, who—together with Turismo Torino e Provincia Convention Bureau—submitted Torino’s candidacy to host the ISBA Congress.
