From the commercial area of Avigliana, the route continues on a dedicated route along the banks of the Dora river to reach, through meadows and cultivated fields, the Mount Pirchiriano dominated by the Sacra di San Michele. The cycle route crosses the SP25 near the parking area for the Via Ferrata C. Giorda and with a short diversions is worth a visit to the medieval village of Sant'Ambrogio, known for its "paste di meliga", fragrant biscuits made of butter and corn flour, and which still preserves the city walls, the baroque parish church of San Giovanni Vincenzo and the abbey castle where the pedestrian route along the centuries-old mule track leads to the Sacra di San Michele.
