IKL & AIAA: A Dialogue on Space and Non-Space

27 July 2026

A gathering of scientists, managers, psychologists, innovators and aerospace experts took place on 23 June at the Circolo dei lettori at the event ‘IKL & AIAA: A Dialogue on Space and Non-Space’.  At the focus of the meeting was a thesis as simple as it is radical: the conquest of space depends first and foremost on the work carried out on Earth, through disciplines – ranging from medicine to economics – that have numerous interconnections with aerospace.

The initiative came about through a collaboration with the Italian Knowledge Leaders (IKL) programme, a project by Convention Bureau Italia dedicated to the development of the Italian conference industry, in which Turismo Torino e Provincia Convention Bureau actively participates to promote the city as a destination for knowledge, and the EMEA representation of the AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics), the world’s largest aerospace technical society with over 33,000 members in 91 countries.

Boasting one of Europe's most significant aerospace supply chains, Torino has reaffirmed its ability to attract skills, ideas, and international communities based on the themes of the future.
