Building began in the 16th century and then Christine of France, wife of Vittorio Amedeo I, had it transformed and extended by Carlo and Amedeo di Castellamonte, (1620-1660): the French taste of the Madame Royale can be seen in the pitch of the roofs. It is now used as an annex to the Turin Polytechnic for the Faculty of Architecture.
