Mausoleo e Parco della Bela Rosin

Exhibition hall
The Mausoleum of the Bela Rosin is a neoclassical building, designed by architect Angelo Demezzi and commissioned by Emanuele and Vittoria Guerrieri, the sons of Rosa Vercellana and Vittorio Emanuele II. The Bela Rosin, wife of King Vittorio Emanuele II, never became queen. For this reason, when she died in 1885, she was not buried in the Pantheon in Rome, where the Savoy king rested; her sons then decided to build a smaller pantheon for her, where the Countess of Mirafiori and Fontanafredda rested with her descendants until 1972, then moved to the monumental cemetery. Surrounded by a park of about thirty thousand square metres, the Mausoleum overlooks Strada del Castello di Mirafiori, on the border between the municipalities of Turin and Nichelino, marked by the river Sangone, and two kilometres from the royal palace of Stupinigi.

Today, the Bela Rosin Mausoleum is managed by Turin’s Civic Libraries, which organise events, conferences, exhibitions, readings and concerts. A small book lending point also feeds the reading garden.
