A musical dialogue centred on wind instruments and Mediterranean scents, born out of the theatrical adventure of the show Tango Ma-condo in which Paolo Fresu and Pierpaolo Vacca, joined by Daniele di Bonaventura on the bandoneon, transformed the dreamlike adventures of a fantastical tale into music.

Pierpaolo Vacca hails from the most authentic tradition of Sardinian accordion playing but, as his beautiful debut album Travessu testifies, he is capable of much more. The title literally means ‘upside down’, also in the sense of ‘contrarian’ or, indeed, as something that overturns and reshuffles.

The essence of this project is therefore to start with dances and rituals, drawing on the traditions of his homeland, and to experience music that is transformed and softened by the use of electronics, projecting itself into a world where the sounds of the past meet those of the present.

In the live performance with Fresu, this richness finds a surprising fluidity and a reworking that consistently surprises both audiences and critics.

A dream concert of great impact, imbued with poetry, intimacy and the small details capable of capturing the colours of the contemporary musical universe.
