Professor, activist and youtuber Matteo Saudino AKA BarbaSophia arrives at the Alliaudi Library. He will meet the students of the Liceo Scientifico ‘M. Curie’ and the I.I.S. ‘I. Porro’ in an intense discussion on the theme: the future and its uncertainties. The event represents the culminating moment of the “Play the Future” project, realised by RBE Radio Beckwith and supported by Fondazione CRT.
Adolescence is a crucial phase for the construction of social and emotional identity: guaranteeing safe and stimulating spaces of confrontation, both at school and in the community, is fundamental for the well-being of the new generations. Through his Youtube channel (over 36 million views by adults and many teenagers) BarbaSophia addresses philosophy and history as tools to reason about society, politics, institutions and education, rights and social justice, because ‘doing philosophy - as Saudino always repeats - is an act of rebellion’.
The aim of the meeting is therefore to open a dialogue between young people and an adult of reference, capable of interpreting their language and needs.
The initiative involved 15 boys and girls from the two high schools in Pinerolo in an exploration of young people's imagery on the future, in an era marked by global uncertainties, climate change, technological evolutions, socio-economic trends and disinformation phenomena.
During the course of the evening, participants will create video content to be disseminated on the web, to tell the story of the initiative but also to provide ideas, suggestions and answers on issues that are important for those who are experiencing adolescence today.
