The exhibition explores the versatility of ceramics as a means of expression, highlighting both the creation of original forms and sculptures and the decoration of pre-existing objects such as plates, trays, jugs and vases, transformed by artists into veritable canvases for their creativity.
Among the works on display, Pablo Picasso's plates and jugs stand out, recounting his discovery of the Madoura workshops and his ‘love at first sight’ for Jacqueline Roque, his last companion. Through this itinerary, visitors will be taken on a journey through 20th and 21st century art, thanks to masterpieces by Julio Le Parc, Yayoi Kusama, Sonia Delaunay, George Baselitz, Gigi Chessa, Louise Bourgeois, Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol (with the famous tiles made for Rosenthal), through to Jean Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Maurizio Cattelan, Ezio Gribaudo and Marco Lodola.
