Accademia Bizantina’s mission is to recreate the sounds of ancient instruments and embody the authenticity of Baroque composers. Since 1996 it has been directed from the harpsichord by Ottavio Dantone, a true master of the 18th century musical languages, joined by the violinist and concertmaster Alessandro Tampieri in 2011.
They return to Lingotto after five years to revisit the glory of one of the most beloved forms of the Baroque repertoire, the Concerto Grosso, through the works of three great composers: Corelli, Geminiani and Händel.
The program closes with the famous Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater featuring the voices of soprano Suzanne Jerosme and contralto Delphine Galou.
