Photo exhibition curated by Jan Vaca and Jiří Preclík.
The Czech count and photographer Karel Chotek, whose work remained unknown until 1999, was active from 1885 for about thirty years.
Belonging to one of the most important aristocratic families in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, he devoted himself to photography from 1885, when, after the death of his father, he gave up diplomatic positions to devote himself to managing the family estate.
He was a member of the Vienna Camera Club and his photos received awards and were published in numerous magazines: here, for the first time in Italy, a selection of photos taken during his frequent trips to Italy and South Tyrol are exhibited.
