Twenty-seven classical music concerts will enliven the historic centre of Bardonecchia during Musica d'Estate: a festival that offers the rare opportunity to enjoy concerts in the highlands, in a unique and unspoilt landscape where even the mountains put on a show.
There will be two concert venues, both in the Borgo Vecchio: every afternoon (at 5.45 p.m. from Monday to Friday and at 3.30 p.m. at weekends) in the Church of Maria Ausiliatrice, young musicians selected from among the students of the masterclasses in piano, violin, cello and chamber music of Musica d'Estate, held by internationally renowned teachers, will perform; during the week (at 4. 00) at the Church of Sant'Ippolito there will be eight solo piano concerts with Andrea Boella (Tuesday 15), Pietro Beltramo (Wednesday 16), Francesco Ricci (Friday 18), Andrea Fucà (Monday 21), Francesco Maria Pellecchia (Tuesday 22), Ruben Xhaferi (Thursday 24), Gianluca Faragli (Monday 28), Flavia Salemme (Tuesday 29).
There are three appointments with chamber music: on Thursday 17 Medea Kalantarava violin, Maria Margherita Paci cello and Gianmarco Tonelli piano, who together form the Trio Ekelon; on Wednesday 23 the protagonists are Bianca Rabaglia violin and Michele Renna piano; on Friday 25 cellist Victoria Saldarini is accompanied by pianist Alessandro Mosca
