Among the most important in the world for the richness of its heritage, the National Cinema Museum owes its uniqueness to the peculiarity of its exhibition layout. Housed in the Mole Antonelliana, Torino’s symbolic monument, the Museum spirals upwards on several levels, creating a spectacular presentation: in a setting of sets, projections and light effects, you can immerse yourself in the magic of cinema, just as you would when watching a film. You will be able to discover first-hand the secrets hidden behind the camera and the stages leading up to the projection of the film, in a fantastic and interactive itinerary: from shadow theatre and the first fascinating magic lanterns to the most spectacular special effects of today and virtual reality.

The Panoramic lift is located inside the Mole Antonelliana.

Walking up the Dome: We inform the public that walking up the dome is subject to booking online

To avoid having to wait in line it is recommended to pre-purchase your ticket online, especially for the panoramic lift.

Pre-purchase is also recommended for the Abbonamento Musei and the Torino+Piemonte Card, whose holders will therefore be required to pre-purchase the free pass (with presale rights) at the Ticketlandia portal: www.ticketlandia.com/m/museo-cinema

Unique in Italy and among the most important in the world, the museum was founded in 1941 thanks to the passion of Maria Adriana Prolo. Reopened in 2000 in the new premises of the Mole Antonelliana, the museum preserves a rich and diverse heritage organized around two main themes: film archaeology and historical photography, and the history of cinema and the development of the film industry. The museum spirals upwards over several levels, creating a spectacular and interactive display with a setting of sets, projections, and light effects, evoking the experience of watching a film.

It houses a vast collection of precious materials, many of which are unique in the world: photographs, posters, advertising materials, equipment, and artistic artefacts, including one of the most important international collections of film archaeology, as well as costumes and set pieces. The Film Library collects both silent and sound films and boasts an exclusive collection of Italian silent films, complemented by a Video Library and a Sound Archive. The Archive also preserves the holdings of Italy's largest silent film production companies. Thanks to its extensive and varied collections, the Bibliomediateca is one of the most prestigious documentation centres for cinema and photography in Europe.
