On the occasion of Chunjie, the Spring Festival better known in the West as Chinese New Year, Torino is celebrating with numerous initiatives that offer the opportunity to get closer to traditional Chinese culture.
According to the Chinese zodiac, 2025 is the year of the Snake. The Snake symbolizes wit, intuition, wisdom and critical thinking.
The Chinese New Year for 2025 is Wednesday, January 29. It is a 15-day holiday that includes the Lion Dance, the Dragon Dance, an Emperor's wedding, and the traditional Lantern Festival. This year, the celebration ends on February 12.
On February 9, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Piazza Castello will be transformed into a stage for traditional dragon and lion dances. These symbolic rituals represent protection, strength and good fortune.
