At 4 p.m., dance workshop; at 9 p.m. Dance concert by the Duo Vargoz with music from the French Alps and in particular from the choreographic and musical repertoire of the Dauphiné Occitan, closely associated with the ‘rigodon’. Appointment promoted by the Lou Magnaut group.
The Rigodon is a traditional folk dance of the Southern Alps/Delfiné and can be considered as a family of dances, so varied are the forms and the number of dancers involved. Fundamental are personal expression, improvisation, the relationship with the other and group dynamics in a game that is almost a ‘danced conversation’ between the two dancers that triggers multiple exchanges and group dynamics. The harmonica and violin are popular instruments that carry stories and imaginations. Playing timeless melodies, this duo energetically seeks freedom of expression and complicity with the dancers. After years of research in the field of ethnomusicology, the duo proposes a training workshop on rigodons found in the Dauphiné, followed by a dance concert.
