Edward Weston. La materia delle forme

From 12/02/2026 to 02/06/2026
Culture & Tradition

The exhibition brings together 171 photographs and offers a comprehensive anthology of the work of Edward Weston (Illinois, 1886 – California, 1958), one of the central figures of modern North American photography.

The exhibition traces over forty years of activity, from 1903 to 1948, from his early pictorialist experiments to his full maturity, highlighting Weston's role—as co-founder of Group f/64—in defining photography as an autonomous, rigorous, and profoundly modern language, in dialogue and contrast with the European avant-garde.

Through black-and-white images, Weston explores still lifes, nudes, landscapes, and portraits that have become iconic. Rooted in the American landscape and culture, his work offers a unique perspective on the affirmation of photography as a central element of contemporary visual culture.
