Appointment in Ronco Canavese with the festival ‘Music in Gran Paradiso. Roots and Resonances’.
Presentation by the staff of the Gran Paradiso National Park on the sounds of nature and the importance of citizen science.
The related musical event is Natural Thing, a project born from the meeting of two musicians, singer Greta Caserta and guitarist Michele Gentilini, with the intention of giving a new interpretation to soul music, also including unreleased tracks that are on the same wavelength.
They chose soul and blues songs from the 1970s and 1980s by artists such as Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Bill Withers, etc., as well as American pop songs by James Taylor, Billie Joel and others.
“Taking inspiration from these sounds, we wrote and composed new songs that had the naturalness of sound as their common denominator”. No sophisticated sounds, therefore, but natural and clean ones that can reach the listener in an authentic way. A return to the essentials, to a way of experiencing music that reflects the slow passing of life's cycles, without falling into the frenzy typical of the contemporary world.
