Perhaps the last representative of an extraordinary generation, the 88-year-old Zubin Mehta is one of the greatest conductors of our time. His stylistic versatility across genres, together with the immediacy and expressive power of his music, are as legendary as the deep sense of humanism he represents.
Founded by Daniel Barenboim in 1999 and composed mostly by musicians from Israel, Palestine and other Middle Eastern countries, the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra travels the world as a peace ambassador, living the spirit of tolerance and unity among people coming from different cultural and religious origins.
At Lingotto Auditorium they will give us an unforgettable experience with Beethoven’s Leonora and Eighth Symphony followed by Schubert’s Ninth Symphony The Great: three compositions straddling Viennese classicism and rising Romanticism.
The Charity Partner for the event is Fondazione Piemontese per la Ricerca sul Cancro.
