One of the most critically acclaimed pianists of his generation, Nelson Goerner is praised for his deep and poetic interpretations.
Thanks to the support of Martha Argerich and his win at the Liszt Competition in Buenos Aires in 1986, the Argentinian pianist earned a scholarship that allowed him to work on his skills with Maria Tipo in Switzerland. In 1990 he won the First Prize at the Geneva International Music Competition and started his international career.
The program of his first recital at Lingotto reflects his personality: starting with a Toccata by Bach, he plays Schubert’s Sonata No. 19 and Chopin and Schumann’s Fantasies.
