The Ivrea International Guitar Festival is a classical guitar festival.
The first concert, on Monday 9, will feature the festival's founders, Marco Musso and Davide Giovanni Tomasi, with a programme ranging from masterpieces of the guitar duo repertoire to transcriptions of piano works by Ravel, marking the 150th anniversary of the French composer's birth.
Tuesday 10 will be the evening of Adriano Del Sal, one of the most internationally acclaimed guitarists: professor of guitar at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna, he will offer a concert focusing on a wide-ranging repertoire, through which the audience will be able to enjoy all the nuances of the six strings.
On Wednesday 11, the three winners of the ‘Ivrea International Guitar Competition’ will perform. This international music competition will take place during the festival on Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11.
The festival will close with a performance by Australian guitarist Campbell Diamond, who teaches at the Anton Bruckner University of Music in Linz. This concert will mark the culmination of this year's festival: the original and sophisticated programme will see the maestro perform a repertoire that combines classical tradition with contemporary innovations.
