La bellezza incisa. Dal Cinquecento al contemporaneo

From 16/11/2024 to 04/05/2025
Torino
Culture & Tradition

The Pinacoteca Albertina will exhibit for the first time to the public the most precious treasures of its extraordinary heritage of historical engravings, collected over more than three centuries and normally kept in the vault of the Accademia di Belle Arti. In the rooms of the Pinacoteca Albertina , Tiepolo, Piranesi and the other great masters of Graphic Art find their home; the first 16th century engravings of Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel and other Renaissance and Baroque masterpieces. Signs in time that will accompany the visitor to some contemporary declinations of the role of graphics among the artistic disciplines.

The exhibition, curated by Antonio Musiari for the historical excursus and by Franco Fanelli for the contemporary section, is in fact an opportunity to discover the Albertina's rich collection of antique engravings in a game of comparisons and cross-references with significant examples of the contemporary production of the School of Graphic Art of the Turin Academy of Fine Arts.
