Adelaide Castle, home to the City of Susa’s Civic Archaeological Museum, is hosting the photographic exhibition *Paesaggi del Tempo* (Landscapes of Time), a visual journey through the landscapes, monuments and places of historical significance in the Susa Valley, curated by Federico Milesi.
For the summer season, the castle complements its historical and archaeological exhibition with a contemporary perspective on the local area, offering an opportunity to recognise, in the places depicted in the photographs, the same layering of history and landscape that the museum preserves and recounts throughout the year.
The exhibition brings together a selection of the photographs through which Milesi has been documenting the area for years: from the Sacra di San Michele to the Fort of Exilles, from Fort Chaberton to Lake Moncenisio, from the Abbey of Novalesa to the valley’s medieval castles, right through to the Alpine villages and the vast natural landscapes of the upper Susa Valley. The images are accompanied by literary excerpts and historical accounts that convey to the visitor the layers of meaning these places have accumulated over time, memory, nature and local identity.
