Pongo 3D, an international pioneer of three-dimensional painting, inaugurates its first exhibition in Torino at the MAU - Museum of Urban Art and at the Spazio Garino, which is part of a journey through Piedmontese villages and urban spaces, bringing the artist's ironic and pop poetics to the heart of the city.
The protagonists of the exhibition are the iconic 3D ducks inspired by art history, already featured in numerous street art interventions in Milano with the aim of bringing culture to urban “non-places”. These works have been donated to the community, becoming part of the everyday landscape but without a real “owner”.
A recurring symbol in his work, for Pongo the duck embodies the irony with which he challenges conformism and invites a new critical consciousness. The artist transforms this seemingly light-hearted subject into a provocative pop star, capable of reflecting the contradictions of our time. The duck becomes a metaphor for contemporary man, caught between the instinct to follow the crowd - like a duck in a flock - and his own creative and individual drive.
