With TRAME, the P.A. Garda Civic Museum is dedicating an exhibition to the memory of the former Giovanni Cena Institute, a building adjacent to the museum and soon to be demolished.
The TRAME exhibition, a side event of the Olivetti and Magnum Photographers project, was made possible thanks to the support of the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture, as part of the Strategia Fotografia 2024 call for proposals, which promotes contemporary photography as a tool for investigation and collective memory, as well as the contribution of the Guelpa Foundation.
The photographs by Mino Di Vita, a photographer who has been sensitively documenting urban and social change for years, restore the spaces of the former Cena as rooms of memory: not silent ruins, but places that still speak today. The images, presented on large photographic panels, allow visitors to retrace the same emotional and historical journey experienced by former students returning to those classrooms, bringing back memories that belong not only to individuals but to the whole community.
