Chiesa di Santa Cristina

Church

This was commissioned by Christine Maria, Madama Reale (princess regent) and began being built in 1639 to a design by Carlo di Castellamonte. The facade, added in the following century, is by Filippo Juvarra. On the facades of the buildings in Piazza San Carlo, at the corners of Via Alfieri and Via Santa Teresa, there are two small frescoes depicting the Holy Shroud.
