Volpiano is preparing to welcome a new edition of 1339. De Bello Canepiciano, the grand medieval festival that transforms the historic centre into a veritable journey through time every two years.
The town's squares, streets and courtyards come alive once again with ladies, knights, jesters, musicians and artisans to re-enact the events linked to the War of Canavese and the conquest of Volpiano Castle by Giovanni II Paleologo in 1339.
There will be tournaments, jousts and duels, fire and falconry shows, dances and medieval music with national and international groups. Alongside the performances, you can visit the historical markets and taverns, which will offer the atmosphere and flavours of the Middle Ages, while for the little ones there will be dedicated areas with games, educational activities and workshops.
