Music, tradition and a significant anniversary will take centre stage at the St Giovanni 2026 Concert by the Verolengo Music Band.
The event is part of the official calendar of the 2026 Musica Feast, the international festival that celebrates the summer solstice every year through thousands of concerts across Europe, promoting music as a means of bringing people together, fostering culture and encouraging participation.
The 2026 edition takes on special significance as it celebrates Maestro Massimo Sartori’s 40 years as artistic director: a long journey characterised by artistic growth, innovation and the promotion of the local band tradition.
For the occasion, the Band, comprising around thirty musicians, will host two established professionals: the trumpeter Samuel Perinotto, a young talent on the Piedmontese music scene, and the saxophonist Isabella Stabio, a musician of international standing who is highly regarded as both a soloist and a chamber musician.
The two artists will perform alongside the Verolengo Band in a programme rich in charm and variety. The repertoire will include A Tribute to Harry James by Naohiro Iwai and New Dream by Andrea Giuffredi, which will showcase the qualities of the solo trumpet; Paris Montmartre by Toshio Mashima, characterised by the evocative sounds of the saxophone; Music by Philip Sparke, one of the most beloved compositions in the contemporary band repertoire; Four Pictures from New York by Roberto Molinelli, an engaging musical journey through jazz, cinema and metropolitan atmospheres.
