November is the most terrifying month of the year! MUFANT celebrates it with a day dedicated to Eastern Gothic imagery, from literature to manga, to the darkest botanical symbols.

The main event will be the presentation, exclusively for Italy, of Sinophagia, a collection of contemporary Chinese Gothic short stories edited by Xueting Christine Ni. While it is true that in recent years we have witnessed a huge boom in Chinese science fiction, to date nothing is known about the form of contemporary Chinese horror. This is a unique opportunity to find out!

The language of plants and flowers has deep roots in the rituals and sacredness of death and the afterlife, starting with the chrysanthemum, a flower of Chinese origin with complex symbolism. A flowerbed of oriental plants will be the setting for La Pioniera (The Pioneer), a travelling installation created by artist Raffaella Brusaglino.

Then, of course, there will be a taste of Japanese Gothic manga and anime, with a fantastic aperitif/conference created by ramen master Carlo Ojisan Mele.
