The Lovers Film Festival, the oldest festival dedicated to LGBTQI+ themes, is now in its 41st edition under the direction of Vladimir Luxuria.

With over 50 titles, including feature films, documentaries and short films from all over the world, the three main competitive sections have been confirmed: All The Lovers (feature films), Real Lovers (documentaries) and Future Lovers (short films). In addition, a jury of young students will vote for the Young Lovers award, selecting a film from All The Lovers.

A special award dedicated to Giò Stajano, one of the most important and significant figures in Italian LGBTQI culture, will be presented.

The Torino Pride award, meanwhile, will be presented by the Torino Pride Coordination to a film that best representa the struggle and activism of the LGBTQI+ community.

Finally, the Riflessi nel Buio award, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is dedicated to a film made in a country where being homosexual is a danger and, at times, a risk to one’s life. This year also sees the addition of the Matthew Shepard Award and the Adoration Award.

The selected films tackle key contemporary issues for the LGBTQI+ community and its allies, such as family relationships, homophobia, activism, the fight for rights, self-discovery and self-acceptance, and love.
