20–22 April: literary and cultural events for schools in Bardonecchia, Oulx and Sestriere
Sant Jordi: The Book and Rose Festival, organised for the third consecutive year by Bardonecchia Town Council in collaboration with the Public Library, will conclude on 24 April with a reading group and a live link to Niscemi, the Sicilian town struck by a devastating landslide. Among the buildings affected is the one housing the precious collection of books, documents and notes belonging to Angelo Marsiano, historian, writer and essayist. Of the approximately 4,000 volumes, around 350 have been saved. Giuseppe Alberghina, one of Marsiano’s heirs, will describe the current situation and what can be done to save the precious texts, as well as proposing a link between Bardonecchia and Niscemi. From north to south, Italy united in the name of books and culture. The video link is scheduled for 4 pm.
