To mark the Exposed Torino Photo Festival, Club Silencio is presenting an evening event at two of Turin’s most iconic venues: the famous ‘Una Notte al Museo’ (A Night at the Museum) event is coming to the Gallerie d’Italia for the first time and opening the doors of Palazzo Carignano, one of the city’s most famous Baroque monuments.
Descending the spectacular staircase of the Gallerie d’Italia, visitors will be able to explore the underground levels of the museum in Piazza San Carlo: spaces such as the Publifoto Archive, which holds around 7 million photographs of events, figures and places from 20th-century Italy, and the temporary exhibition ‘Nick Brandt. The Day May Break. Light at the End of the Day’ will be open exceptionally.
At Palazzo Carignano, a masterpiece designed by Guarino Guarini inspired by Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s drawings for the Louvre, the Mezzogiorno apartments will be open to visitors, featuring gilded panelling, mirrored effects and Baroque decorations.
At both venues, it will also be possible to visit three temporary exhibitions:
• The Countess of Castiglione. The Invention of Self, dedicated to the pioneer of performance photography
• Turin 4×4. Photographs of a New Era, which showcases four Turin-based organisations involved in social projects
• Diana Markosian. Replaced, an intense visual narrative on memory, loss and identity
Plus the house and Afro house sounds of Klaud, the offerings from the lounge bar and the food corner.
