On Sunday 5 July, the 11th edition of the Granfondo Sestriere Colle delle Finestre, a competitive cycling event, offers enthusiasts two routes that pass through the most beautiful Alpine locations of the Susa and Chisone valleys and the main peaks of the Via Lattea ski area in the Olympic Mountains of Turin 2006.
For the second consecutive year, the start will be hosted by the Municipality of Cesana Torinese.
The route starts from Cesana heading towards Oulx, then Salbertrand, Exilles, Chiomonte, Gravere and Susa. From here, the climb begins up to Colle delle Finestre via Meana di Susa. From the pass, the route descends to Balboutet and then on to Pourrieres, Pragelato and Sestriere, the finish line for the medium-distance route. The Granfondo continues down to Sauze di Cesana before climbing back up to the finish in Sestriere via Cesana.
Cycling enthusiasts can enjoy a weekend completely immersed in unspoilt nature, where cycling takes on a legendary quality with two further events: on Saturday 4 July, the Assietta Legend – the history of mountain biking – and the Gravel Race.
