The Corsa dei 5 Laghi is a 24.5km competitive ecotrail with about 440m of elevation gain, run on a mixed surface of asphalt, dirt, woodland paths, and porphyry.
Founded in Ivrea in 1977, the race crosses the glacially formed Morainic Amphitheatre -an area of extraordinary natural beauty - and over the years it has combined a challenging yet accessible sporting format while enhancing the scenic appeal of the morainic hills north of the city.
In addition to the classic race, it will also be possible to register solely for the Corsa dei 2 LAGHI, a 12 km race with approximately 120 m of elevation gain, available in both competitive and non-competitive formats; the latter is open to anyone who, even if just out of curiosity, would like to stroll, walk or jog a shorter distance to discover this little gem in the Canavese region.
New for 2026 will be the first edition of the Corsa dei 5 LAGHI XL trail, a 46 km race with an elevation gain of approximately 1,650 m. A new event designed to explore the Serra Morenica di Ivrea more extensively and in greater depth, with routes immersed in nature, technical sections and panoramic views of great scenic value. The route will follow the classic 5 Lakes course as far as the village of Bienca, before climbing rapidly towards Andrate and then up to the highest point of the village of San Giacomo, at an altitude of 1,300 m, from where the descent will begin
● Meeting point: from 6.00 am, in Piazza Ottinetti in Ivrea at the Race Centre for collection of race numbers and any last-minute registrations – the same procedures will also be available on the preceding Saturday afternoon
● Start: at Piazza Ottinetti at 7.00 am – 5 LAKES XL RACE; 9.00 am – 5 LAKES RACE, followed by – 2 LAKES RACE (competitive and non-competitive)
