Founded by Don Bosco in 1865-68 to a design by Antonio Spezia, this church was extended and enriched in 1935-38. The facade is in neo-Palladian style and, on the dome, there is the statue of the Madonna, the work of Camillo Boggio (1867). The single-nave interior is richly decorated in multicolour marble, and holds the remains of San Giovanni Bosco and other saints of the Salesian family. The fresco in the dome, which depicts the Glory of the Virgin Mary, was executed by Giuseppe Rollini. On the high altar is a painting of Maria Ausiliatrice, by Tommaso Lorenzone (1868).
