Carlo Petrini, journalist and founder of Slow Food, described them as an ‘urban fanfare’. A fitting description for a group that sees the city as its ideal backdrop and the street not only as a stage on which to perform but also as a source of inspiration.
Wind instruments and percussion, then. A brass band capable of tackling any musical style with an overwhelming burst of energy.
Founded in Turin, Bandakadabra boasts a frenetic live schedule that has taken them all over Europe and earned them growing attention from fans. From the Paleo Festival to Suoni delle Dolomiti, via Jazz sous les pommiers, the Tenco Prize, the Festival della Mente and Musicultura, in just a few years the band has clocked up more than four hundred performances, spanning theatre and music festivals, street festivals and private events, establishing itself as a one-of-a-kind act.
Also noteworthy is the calibre of the artists with whom the group has shared the stage: Vinicio Capossela, Arturo Brachetti, Malika Ayane, Willie Peyote and Samuel (singer-songwriter and lead vocalist of Subsonica). With the latter, the band not only collaborated on the live album *Live con Orchestra*, arranging and performing all the wind parts, but also appeared as a guest on two tracks from the album Brigata Bianc.
