At Masino Castle in Caravino, the thousand-year-old residence of the Valperga Counts, there are many initiatives planned for the whole family to experience the magic of Christmas: themed guided tours, insights into traditional customs and games, and fun activities for children.
On 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 December, Wednesday-Friday at 11:00 and 15:00; Saturday and Sunday at 10:30, 12:00, 14:00 and 15:30: Christmas at the Castle. Special guided tour of the festively decorated residence of the Valperga counts.
On certain days until mid-December, a special guided tour will be offered to immerse visitors in the Christmas atmosphere at Masino Castle, the splendid residence of the Valperga counts of Masino, which has dominated the vast Canavese plain for over a thousand years: from the Adoration of Jesus by the Piedmontese school preserved in the Red Drawing Room - one of the most precious rooms in the FAI manor - to the precious coral nativity scene made in Trapani in the Poets' Gallery, from the tea and chocolate sets on the table in the Summer Dining Room to the memories of Christmas Eve in the mid-twentieth century.
A unique opportunity to experience the castle, richly decorated for the holidays, and to learn about the traditions and customs of the Valperga family.
In addition, on 7, 8, and 14 December, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.: Journey to Christmas. Traditional customs and games in the festively decorated residence of the Valperga counts.
The FAI offers families a special guided tour of Masino Castle, where they can discover how Christmas was celebrated, how the festive table was prepared in an ancient castle, what games were popular in the past and how people wished each other “Merry Christmas”.
Young visitors and their companions will take a journey through time, learning about traditional customs and games while immersed in the magical Christmas atmosphere of the festively decorated castle halls.
