A festival celebrating SALAME DI CINGHIALE, a typical local cured meat, featuring a trade fair with food and wine stalls.
The event takes place in Cravanzola Park and showcases local produce, including food and wine, as well as crafts and art.
The day also includes the 5 km food and wine walk, ‘Cinghialando’. The meeting points for the three groups into which the organisers will divide the participants are set for 8.00 am, 8.30 am and 9.00 am, with the walk starting half an hour after the meeting and featuring four food and wine stops showcasing local produce. The 5 km route is mixed, i.e. partly tarmac and partly dirt track, so comfortable clothing and suitable footwear are recommended. To book the walk, please email info@ganv.i.
As well as visiting the fair featuring typical local produce in Cravanzola Park, you can enjoy lunch of polenta and wild boar or a platter of cold cuts and cheeses at the Tourist Information Centre.
The Tequila Band has been chosen to provide musical entertainment.
The first edition of the CTPV Valdellatorre Urban Trial Trophy is also scheduled to take place in Cravanzola Park between 8.30 am and 4.00 pm.
In the afternoon, from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm, visitors can take part in guided tours of the town’s iconic tower, rebuilt in medieval style in the 20th century on the walls of the park of the former villa of the Counts Rossi di Montelera.
Inside, a temporary exhibition dedicated to the 2011 Turin Universal Exposition will be on display, whilst outside another exhibition will showcase local customs, traditions and way of life.
The historic orangery building, situated in the park of the former villa and restored thanks to the efforts of the local council and the GANV (Valtorrese Archaeological and Naturalistic Group), will also be open to visitors. The orangery houses the permanent exhibition “Vita ‘d na volta”.
