The Castello delle Quattro Torri is located in Arignano, about 25 km from Turin.
It is the only Renaissance-style castle in Piedmont that has been preserved without ever undergoing any transformations due to subsequent additions. There is no precise information about when it was built, but it is now believed to have been commissioned by Count Ludovico Costa degli Albussani, who had it built as a residence rather than for military purposes. Its construction has been dated between 1407 and 1430.
Even today, the castle is surrounded by a large park enclosed by a 19th-century brick wall. The division of the Costa family's properties during the 20th century led to the construction of a brick dividing wall between the castle with its four towers and the other properties belonging to the counts, including the stables, the ancient fortress and the Villa Bianca.
