From 20th to 22nd November 2024, Torino has hosted the 41st Annual Congress of ANCI (National Association of Italian Municipalities), a crucial event for local government representatives. The meeting, with the theme “Facciamo l’Italia, giorno per giorno”, was held at Lingotto Fiere, a symbol of industrial transformation of the city. The 20th Congress programme has been opened with the nomination of Gaetano Manfredi as the new president of ANCI.
The meeting was attended by the highest State authorities: it was opened by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella and, closed by Giorgia Meloni, in a video message. On stage there were 55 mayors, 12 ministers and one undersecretary, with a total of 5,000 mayors and local administrators from all over the country, more than 16,000 in total attendance, 100 speakers, 22 main partners, an exhibition area of over 38,000 square metres and 13 halls where over 150 events took place.
Following this event, from 22nd to 24nth November 2024, Torino has hosted ANCI OFF, the Village of Munincipalities: in the city centre, along Via Roma, 100 exhibition stands, organised by Turismo Torino and Provincia, has welcomed regional Anci coordinators, metropolitan cities and over 80 Munincipalities to promote the tourist-cultural peculiarities of each territory.
